Some Interesting Facts about the City of Stone Mountain:

¨       It is DeKalb County’s second oldest city

¨       It contains a well-preserved commercial core

¨       It was established along   a historic rail line

¨       It is surrounded by neighborhoods built from the 1840’s through World War II

¨       Granite is the city’s architectural signature, used    as a building material and as a landscape element

¨       It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as a National Historic District with over 276 contributing historic buildings and sites.
